Congratulations to the ECS Class of 2018!

The 16 members of the ECS Class of 2018 were accepted to 17 colleges and universities, from which they were awarded a total of $2,381,970 in scholarships over the next four years. The colleges to which they were accepted and a brief description of each senior's matriculation plans and scholarship awards are listed below.

Joseph Fuller Carmichael - Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honor Roll. He plans to attend Auburn University in January, but he also received acceptances from Covenant College, Liberty University, Troy University and the University of Alabama. Fulton was awarded a four-year scholarship from Auburn of $38,000, which combined with other university and private scholarship offers totals to $254,000.

Catherine DeBray Cowden - Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction. She plans to attend Samford University in the fall, but she was also accepted at Liberty Univ,. Birmingham Southern, Mississippi College, and Auburn University. From Samford she received $68,000 in scholarship money, which along with other scholarships from colleges and private sources, totaled awards of $189,500.

Carlynn Renee Culpepper-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll. She plans to attend Mississippi College this fall, but she was also accepted to Huntingdon College and Troy University. She received $45,000 from Mississippi College, which along with other scholarship offers, totaled $85,000.

John Nolin Geiger-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll, Nolin is a 13-year graduate and co-valedictorian. He plans to take a gap year in which he will participate in a variety of service opportunities, with the possibility of short term mission trips.

Joy Lee Gulley-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction, Joy is a 13-year graduate. She plans to attend Auburn University in the fall, from which she received $16,000 in scholarship money.

Andrew Alan Hines-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll, Andrew is also co-valedictorian. He plans to attend Huntingdon College in the fall, but he was also accepted at UAB, Univ of South Alabama, Auburn University, and Mississippi College. He received $107,200 in scholarship money from Huntingdon, which along with other scholarships totaled $218, 400.

Haley Lynn Hodges- Graduating with Classical Distinction. She was accepted to Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery, from which she received a $16,000 scholarship offer. She plans to attend University of Alabama at Birmingham in January.

Anna Montgomery Johnson- Graduating Cum Laude with Classical Distinction, Anna is a 13-year graduate. She plans to attend Judson College, where she signed to play volleyball. She received $200,000 from Judson, which along with scholarship money from UAB, totaled $248,000.

Abigail Susan Jones- Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll. Abigail plans to attend Samford University in the fall, but she also was accepted at Auburn University, Troy University, and The University of Mobile. She received $53,550 from Samford, which along with other scholarships totals $125,550

Michael Joseph Kometer-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll, Mikey is also co-valedictorian. He plans to attend the United States Air Force Academy, from which he received $400,000 in scholarship moneys. He was also accepted at Liberty University. Scholarships offered to Mikey from these colleges, ROTC and private sources totaled $552,500.

Mary Phyfer Parker- Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll. She plans to attend Auburn University in the fall, from with she received $8,000 in scholarship money.

Clara Kathryn Pass-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll. She plans to attend Huntingdon College in the fall, but she also received acceptance to Auburn University. Katy received $120,000 from Huntingdon, which along with other scholarships totals $153,500.

Camille Frances Lorene Phillips-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll. Cami plans to attend Mississippi College in the fall, from which she received a scholarship of $46,000. She was also accepted to the University of Alabama, Troy University, Belhaven College, and Liberty University. She received a total of $122,750 in scholarships from colleges and private sources.

Kirby Kamila Rockett- Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll, Kirby is also co-valedictorian. She plans to attend Louisiana Tech University in the fall, but she was also accepted at Auburn University and Mississippi College. She received $22,000 from LA Tech, which along with a scholarship from Auburn, totals to $38,000.

Leila Ruth Vaughn- Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction and honor roll, Leila is a 13-year graduate. She plans to attend Covenant College in the fall, but she was also accepted to University of North Alabama, Columbia International University, Huntingdon College, and Spring Hill College. She received $86,270 from Covenant, which along with scholarships from other colleges totaled $278,770.

Margaret Alice Zaner-Graduating Summa Cum Laude with Classical Distinction, she plans to attend Birmingham Southern College in the fall where she she has signed to play on the tennis team. She received $12,000 from Birmingham Southern, which along with scholarship money from Huntingdon College, totaled $68,000.
