General Admissions Information

I. Admission Requirements:

A. Assessment Test

B. Family Interview which includes children entering grades six and above.

II. Information for Parents:

A. If a child has successfully completed the previous school year and his school work and behavior compare favorably to the comparable grade at ECS, the child will be placed in the grade for which he or she is applying. However, if there is evidence to show that the child may not be adequately prepared for the next sequential grade level, with the parents’ consent, he or she may repeat the previous grade.

B. It is our desire to minister to believers and their children. Toward that end, we require at least one parent to provide a testimony of faith in Jesus Christ during the initial parent interview.

C. Parents of students should have a clear understanding of the biblical philosophy and purpose of Eastwood Christian School. This understanding includes a willingness to have their child exposed to the clear teaching of the school’s Statement of Faith in various and frequent ways within the school’s program.

D. Parents should be willing to cooperate with and adhere to all the written policies of Eastwood Christian School. This is most important in the area of discipline, submission to authority, schoolwork standards, as well as active communication with the respective teachers(s) and administration.

E. The God-ordained institution of the family is given the primary authority and responsibility for education. School should be an extension of the teaching, training, and disciplining presently occurring in the home.

F. An Eastwood family should understand and be committed to classical, Christ-centered education. Parents should want their children to attend Eastwood Christian School because of what they are taught, how they are taught, and by whom they are taught. Eastwood Christian School is a learning-oriented community, where students are challenged to achieve their individual educational potential for the sake of serving the kingdom of God.

G. Eastwood desires to have parents serve the school in a variety of ways, realizing that their involvement is crucial to the success of the school.

H. If parents are divorced, ECS is legally obligated to provide reports to the custodial parent(s) only.

Eastwood will require a copy of the custody decree before the family interview.

III. School Interest Form

School Interest Form No recommendation letters are required. If no position is available for the student during the current school year, parents must submit a new form to remain on the School Interest list for the following year.

IV. Admission Priority:

The Board extends invitations to families who reflect the purposes of the school; however, there are certain other priority dynamics that go into determining admission.

A. Children of Eastwood Presbyterian Church members, children of Eastwood Christian School faculty, and siblings of currently enrolled students

B. Families of presently enrolled students

The above types of students must register during priority registration. Failure to do so may nullify any priority status.
