Wendy Lackey
Wendy Lackey joins the Grammar School team this year as a K5 teacher. She and her husband, Chris, are parents of three children: Andrew (27), Mary Kate (22), and Collins (9). They reside in Tallassee with their two canine kids: Ollie and Tex. Wendy studied dental hygiene at UAB and began a twenty-plus-year career in this field after receiving her degree. When her youngest daughter, Collins, started Eastwood in 2020, Wendy became an important part of the school as a volunteer and substitute teacher. During this time, God began tugging at her heart to focus more on her family and children's ministry at her church, First Baptist Church, Tallassee. She retired from her long career and began utilizing her God-given gifts working with children. She increased her time working at Eastwood and became a valuable part of the grammar school. Wendy's calling to invest in the kindergarten students is exciting, and she brings her energy and gifts to the kindergarten team. She loves Eastwood and is thankful for the foundation it provides for the children here. She believes a classical Christian education is a solid foundation for life.
