Andrew Schmitt
Andrew Schmitt is in his third year of teaching at Eastwood Christian School. He will teach a variety of subjects: Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Systematic Theology, Biblical Interpretation, Christian Apologetics, Ancient History, and Late European History. Mr. Schmitt has the privilege of serving as Eastwood Christian School’s Director of Theological Studies. In addition to his responsibilities with Eastwood Christian School, Andrew serves as the Interim Youth Director for Eastwood Presbyterian Church.
Andrew has been married to his wife, Katie, for 14 years. She teaches multiple subjects in Eastwood’s Logic school. Andrew and Katie have been blessed with three wonderful children: Haddon (10), Piper Kate (5), and Knox (4). Mr. Schmitt is an ordained minister among churches of the Southern Baptist Convention. He has served as lead pastor and student pastor of various local churches. He earned a B.A. in history and a B.A. in theology at the University of Mobile. Andrew completed his M.Div. with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Andrew desires to teach, as well as disciple, students to know Christ and how He is the Lord of history. Mr. Schmitt believes that the Classical Christian model of education fosters a greater love for truth across all disciplines. He enjoys watching baseball, playing golf, reading history and theology, traveling (especially to Europe), and going on coffee dates with Katie.
